Owe:na Poetry Magazine is excited to invite Ogwehoweh poets from Six Nations of the Grand River to contribute to the Spring 2026 poetry publication which will be released March 20 2026. We are looking for poetry that reflects rez life, struggles, successes, and good-mindedness. We aim to be enjoyed by all ages so we will not accept poetry of an explicit violent or sexual nature.
POET SPECIFIC CATEGORIES: 16 TOTAL
- Elder: 1 poet who is 65 or older
- Youth: 1 poet 18 yrs and younger (caregiver must submit the poem)
- Visual: 1 poet and poem with visual elementss
- Dream: 1 poet inspired by sleeping dreams
- Language: 1 poet whose work includes 5 or more language words (with translations)
- Featured: 5 additional poets of any ages and poetry styles
- MOSCOT MEMOIRS: 6 poets who write in this acrostic form
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Length: 200 words or less, could be one long poem or several shorter poems
- Language: English. Traditional Ogwehoweh langauge with translation
- Originality: Must be written by you and previously unpublished
- Submission Deadline: March 5th 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: by March 10th 2026

EVALUATIONS
Your submission will be reviewed based on originality, clairity, and adherence to OPM guidelines.
We will email you to let you know if your poetry will be published in the Spring Issue.
All accepted poets must also meet with the editor to verifity their identity.
